Opposition leaders have accused “mafia” or “influential people” of being behind the NEET-UG paper leak, calling for accountability from the BJP-led Centre for the cancelled exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) scrapped the NEET-UG 2026 exam held on May 3 due to suspicions of leaked questions being circulated beforehand.
Investigations in Rajasthan are focusing on a pre-exam “guess paper” that allegedly contained questions mirroring the actual test. Congress leader Sachin Pilot emphasized the recurring nature of such paper leaks, raising concerns over the integrity of the examination system and the NTA’s credibility.
Pilot suggested the involvement of organized groups or “mafia” in orchestrating the leaks, pointing to similarities between the leaked questions and the official paper. He stressed the need for accountability and urged for a time-bound judicial inquiry into the matter, emphasizing the importance of fair exam conduct.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj cautioned that more instances of paper leaks may exist beyond the current revelations, highlighting the potential impact on students’ futures. Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy expressed concerns over the erosion of trust in the NTA due to such incidents, echoing the demand for accountability from the government.
