The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) criticized the BJP-led state government, claiming that the administrative system in the state has deteriorated since the BJP took power. Allegations include the BJP attempting to transform government offices into party spaces, as stated in a press release by the BJD.
The BJD’s spokesperson, Dr. Lenin Mohanty, raised concerns about a BJP party in-charge meeting being planned in the Collector’s Conference Hall during the visit of State Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra to Sambalpur. The BJD accused the ruling party of pressuring government officials to attend this meeting.
According to Mohanty, the BJP’s actions suggest an inappropriate merging of party and government functions, leading to disruptions and attacks on government officials across the state. The BJD warned that such practices could lead to public frustration and threatened street protests if the BJP continues to blur the lines between government and party activities.
