The fact-finding team includes prominent BJD leaders like Ramesh Chyau Patnaik, Bhrugu Baxipatra, Pramila Bisoi, and others. Susant Sahu, hailing from Subalaya village, was taken to the police station on May 25 for questioning regarding illegal stone blasting. Despite no conclusive evidence of his involvement, he was allegedly tortured during his week-long detention. Sahu was returned to his family in critical condition on Sunday and succumbed to his injuries at MKCG Medical College and Hospital on Monday.
The incident has sparked public outrage, leading to the suspension of three police officers and the removal of an under-training IPS officer in charge of the Kabisuryanagar police station.
