Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly V.D. Satheesan criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in Thiruvananthapuram, labeling the BJP’s Kerala election agenda as “purely communal” and divisive. Satheesan emphasized that promoting communal rhetoric from the Prime Minister’s position was concerning and went against India’s core constitutional values.
In response to PM Modi’s speech, Satheesan highlighted the absence of discussions on development achievements or Kerala’s priorities, noting that communalism was the central theme. He pointed out that the BJP and Sangh Parivar seemed solely focused on polarization in Kerala, as indicated by the speech.
Satheesan reaffirmed Kerala’s commitment to secularism, asserting that the state’s social fabric would resist divisive politics. He emphasized that the Congress, the Muslim League, and the UDF prioritize safeguarding secularism and reject the use of communalism for electoral gains, emphasizing their dedication to countering communal forces in Kerala.
