The absence of Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav from the Bihar Legislative Assembly has stirred controversy during the ongoing monsoon session. BJP MLA Baidyanath Prasad raised concerns about Yadav’s non-attendance, stating that it was neglecting his constitutional duties. He questioned the whereabouts of the opposition leader, emphasizing the people’s right to know.
The ruling alliance criticized the opposition’s leadership for not being present during the crucial legislative session. Both Leaders of Opposition in the Bihar Legislature, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, have been absent since the session commenced on July 20. Reports suggest that Tejashwi Yadav is on a foreign trip, while Rabri Devi is in Delhi with RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is receiving medical treatment at AIIMS.
The ruling party’s remarks have highlighted the opposition leaders’ absence and raised doubts about their commitment to legislative responsibilities. Despite the criticism, the opposition has not officially responded to the allegations. The five-day monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly is scheduled to end on July 24.
