Opposition leaders criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message, demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation for accountability in exam paper leaks. PM Modi had earlier ordered the establishment of fast-track courts for swift justice in such cases. Congress MP P. Chidambaram questioned the effectiveness of fast-track courts due to a shortage of judges, emphasizing the need for practical solutions.
Congress MPs raised concerns over the delay in seeking Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and the implementation of fast-track courts. They stressed that only Pradhan’s resignation would satisfy the demands for accountability. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad also questioned the delay in addressing Pradhan’s accountability. Congress MP Mallu Ravi highlighted the Opposition’s unified call for the Education Minister’s resignation as a matter of government responsibility.
Opposition MPs criticized PM Modi’s assurances as mere rhetoric, calling for concrete actions like Pradhan’s resignation. Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad compared PM Modi’s promises to unfulfilled pledges in the past, expressing skepticism. Trinamool MP Saugata Roy echoed the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. BJP MP Madan Rathore, however, supported PM Modi’s proposal for a new law to prevent future paper leaks, emphasizing the need for stricter examination processes.
