Opposition leaders stood by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia following a Delhi court’s decision in the excise policy case. AAP’s Sanjay Singh hailed the verdict as evidence of a larger political conspiracy against them. Singh criticized the treatment of their leaders in jail and called for an apology from @narendramodi.
Several opposition figures, including Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena(UBT) and Mahua Moitra from Trinamool Congress, praised the court’s decision. Chaturvedi commended Kejriwal and Sisodia for standing against falsehoods and ensuring justice prevailed. Moitra warned the BJP to learn from the outcome and congratulated Kejriwal on the victory.
The Rouse Avenue Court’s ruling provided significant relief to Kejriwal and Sisodia in the Delhi Liquor Excise Policy case. The court highlighted the lack of evidence supporting the charges and stressed the importance of a fair investigation for a just trial. Both leaders had faced arrests by the ED and CBI over alleged corruption related to the excise policy, but the court found insufficient evidence to proceed.
