Opposition parties have criticized the BJP-led central government for sidestepping discussions in Parliament on crucial national matters like border infrastructure, inflation, and unemployment. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav accused the government of creating internal discord within the BJP and intentionally obstructing Parliament’s functioning. He expressed concerns about India’s border situation, urging the government to address the Opposition’s raised issues regarding territorial and infrastructure development, especially along the China border.
Yadav highlighted the need for enhanced road infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control, emphasizing the importance of logistics for the armed forces. He pointed out delays and cost escalations in significant projects, including the bullet train, questioning the government’s efficiency in executing infrastructure plans. Additionally, he criticized the government for diverting attention from critical matters by engaging in ideological debates and historical controversies.
Azad Samaj Party chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad echoed similar sentiments, noting that the government tends to prioritize political gains over addressing pressing issues like inflation, employment, housing, law and order, and pollution. He raised concerns about the government’s alleged neglect of demands to honor social reformers and freedom fighters from marginalized communities. Aazad emphasized the need for a more focused approach by the government to tackle the country’s governance challenges effectively.
