Strong annual reporting by organizations in India plays a vital role in promoting transparency and enhancing corporate practices, as highlighted by Free Press Journal (FPJ) President Abhishek Karnani. At the Free Press Journal and CareEdge Annual Report Awards event, Karnani emphasized FPJ’s aim to evolve the awards platform into a reputable corporate think tank focusing on governance, accountability, and best practices. Transparency, a key element in FPJ’s growth, was underscored, noting the publication’s status as Mumbai’s second-largest English daily with circulation certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
The event, attended by prominent corporate leaders, policymakers, investors, and governance experts in Mumbai, aimed to recognize excellence in corporate reporting, transparency, and stakeholder accountability. Annual reports were highlighted not just as statutory disclosures but as reflections of an organization’s governance standards, strategic clarity, sustainability outlook, and long-term vision. Swati Agarwal, CEO–Advisory at Care Analytics and Advisory Pvt Ltd, emphasized that modern annual reports extend beyond financial disclosures to include ESG metrics, climate-risk mitigation strategies, governance standards, and long-term value creation frameworks.
A significant moment of the evening was the presentation of the Hall of Fame Award to Bhaskar Bhat, former Managing Director of Titan and current Chairperson of Kansai Nerolac Paints. Bhat was acknowledged for his role in establishing Titan as a trusted consumer brand in India, embodying integrity, trust, and long-term value creation. The awards ceremony recognized various companies from different sectors for their outstanding annual reporting practices.
The event also featured engaging panel discussions led by Vivek Law, featuring veteran investor Raamdeo Agrawal and business strategist Rama Bijapurkar. The discussions delved into topics such as market evolution, consumer behavior, long-term investing, and the changing corporate landscape in India.
