The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Karnataka has distributed more than 2.01 crore Enumeration Forms to voters as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. This distribution accounts for 36.30% of the electorate in the state, with 2.18% of the forms already digitized.
Additionally, 54,823 voters, constituting 0.10% of the electorate, have submitted their Enumeration Forms online. During the verification process, 17,688 electors have been categorized as “ASDDO” (absent, shifted, dead, and duplicate), with other cases identified as well.
Officials have noted that the Special Intensive Revision process is progressing smoothly in Karnataka, although some complaints have surfaced regarding Booth Level Officers not conducting door-to-door distribution of Enumeration Forms. In response, strict instructions have been issued to ensure mandatory house-to-house visits by all BLOs as per Election Commission guidelines.
Voters facing challenges in filling out forms can seek assistance at designated Voter Facilitation Centres, with awareness campaigns underway to inform electors of available support during the revision process.
The electoral roll in Karnataka had 5,54,32,314 electors as of June 16, 2026, with the distribution of Enumeration Forms to all BLOs completed. The house-to-house enumeration and digitization process began on June 30 and will continue until July 29.
Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje raised concerns about illegal birth certificates being issued through cyber centers during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka, urging the Election Commission to intervene.
Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra accused the state government of misusing the electoral roll revision process and alleged that the exercise was being conducted improperly. Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbu Kumar directed Deputy Commissioners to ensure strict compliance with Election Commission guidelines in response to complaints about improper distribution of Enumeration Forms.
