A Pakistan army Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir due to a technical fault during take-off. The crash resulted in the tragic death of all personnel aboard the helicopter. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident and reported that rescue teams have been dispatched to the crash site while an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Last September, another Pakistani army helicopter crashed in Pakistan-occupied Gilgit Baltistan, claiming the lives of five crew members. The ISPR disclosed that the crash occurred in the Diamer district due to a technical fault during routine training flying. Similarly, in August 2025, a Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government helicopter crashed in a tribal district, resulting in the death of five crew members who were on a mission to deliver flood relief supplies.
In a separate incident in 2022, the wreckage of a Pakistan Army helicopter that had gone missing in Balochistan was discovered in Lasbela district. The ISPR confirmed that all six officers and soldiers aboard the helicopter had tragically lost their lives in the crash.
