The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed dissatisfaction with Shadab Khan for mocking former players after a match, urging him to be more respectful during the World Cup. Shadab responded to criticism from ex-cricketers by highlighting his performance in a recent game and emphasizing the team’s achievements. PCB’s team manager, Naveed Cheema, reminded Shadab to refrain from using harsh language towards respected former players like his father-in-law, Saqlain Mushtaq.
Cheema has been instructed to remind all players to maintain decorum in their comments about matches to avoid repercussions. Saqlain Mushtaq, Shadab’s father-in-law, disapproved of Shadab’s remarks, emphasizing the importance of showing respect to former players. Another ex-player, Kamran Akmal, echoed similar sentiments, cautioning against making disrespectful comments towards former players.
The Pakistan team management is being cautious about players’ media interactions, especially before and after crucial matches. They have restricted players from giving comments two days before the India match. Even during media talks, players are being guided on which questions to answer, ensuring a professional approach in communication. Pakistan is set to play New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka in their upcoming Super Eight matches.
