Pakistan Super League (PSL) will switch to a Player Auction Model starting from its 11th season, as announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This move marks a significant change from the traditional Player Draft system, aiming to boost competitive balance, transparency, and players’ earning prospects. Each franchise can now retain a maximum of four players, with a limit of one player per category, unlike the previous system where eight players could be retained, including a mentor, brand ambassador, and Right to Match Option (RTN).

The upcoming PSL 11 will see the removal of rules related to mentors, brand ambassadors, and RTM. New teams entering the league will have the opportunity to select and retain four players from the available pool before the Player Auction. Additionally, franchises will have the chance to make one direct signing of a foreign player who did not participate in PSL 10, allowing for strategic reinforcement with fresh international talent.

Furthermore, the player salary purse per franchise has been raised to USD 1.6 million, reflecting the league’s commitment to growth and excellence. These changes align with the league’s vision to promote cricketing standards, engage fans, and reach new heights. Detailed information on the player auction process, schedule, and operational guidelines will be disclosed in the coming days.

PSL 11 is scheduled to kick off on March 26, with Faisalabad being included as an additional venue for hosting matches.
