Indian pop rock band Euphoria’s frontman, Palash Sen, recently shared his thoughts on being an independent and unapologetic rock singer. In an Instagram post, he expressed his commitment to authenticity over seeking validation. Sen described rock music as a form of rebellion against conformity, embodying honesty and a touch of Sufi spirituality.
Reflecting on his musical journey, Sen emphasized his dedication to singing from the heart and staying true to himself. He highlighted the essence of rock music as being somewhat maniacal, which he believes encapsulates the true meaning of euphoria. Sen’s journey began in college where he founded Euphoria and started composing songs in English, with his first composition being ‘Heaven on the Seventh Floor,’ an ode to his college hostel room.
Euphoria, under Sen’s leadership, gained recognition with their debut album ‘Dhoom Pichuck Dhoom,’ which was well-received commercially and critically. The band went on to release five successful studio albums, a compilation, and seventeen music videos. Sen also made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Filhaal…’ directed by Meghna Gulzar, where he composed an eight-and-a-half-minute song.
