Parampal Singh Guron emerged victorious in the Skeet Trial 1 of the National Selection Trials 1&2 (Group A) by outshooting Olympian Anantjeet Singh Naruka in a tense shootout at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. Ganemat Sekhon claimed the top spot in the Women’s event, while Zorawar Singh Bedi and Sanyogita Shekhawat excelled in the Junior Men’s and Women’s categories, respectively.
Guron and Anantjeet both scored 34 hits out of 36 in the new Skeet finals format, with Guron clinching the win in the shoot-off by hitting all four targets. Mairaj Ahmad Khan secured the third position with a score of 29. The competition followed the new ISSF format where eight shooters advanced to the finals.
In the Women’s event, Ganemat Sekhon secured first place with a score of 33, surpassing Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Darshna Rathore who finished second and third, respectively. The Junior Men’s finals saw Zorawar Singh Bedi leading with 35 hits, while Sanyogita Shekhawat topped the Junior Women’s category with 28 hits.
The competition witnessed intense performances across various categories, setting the stage for the upcoming Skeet action in the next round of Trials.
