Several passengers were injured, with six in critical condition, when a passenger bus collided with a tractor-trolley in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on National Highway-30 near Gosalpur between 10:30 to 11 a.m. The bus, en route from Katni to Jabalpur, crashed into a wheat-loaded tractor-trolley while attempting to overtake it.
Local residents played a crucial role in the rescue operation, pulling out injured passengers trapped inside the overturned bus. Police teams from Gosalpur and Sihora stations, along with emergency services, responded promptly to the accident site. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals using ‘Dial 108’ ambulance services and private vehicles.
Eighteen injured passengers are receiving treatment at Gosalpur, while 21 others have been admitted to Sihora Civil Hospital. Six critically injured individuals have been referred to Jabalpur Medical College for specialized care. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident resulted from the bus driver’s negligence in attempting to overtake the tractor.
