The Patna Civil Court has postponed the hearing on Faisal Khan’s anticipatory bail plea to June 30. Khan, also known as Khan Sir and director of Khan Global Studies, will retain interim protection from arrest until the next hearing. The court granted time to review the updated case diary submitted by the police.
During the proceedings, the Kadamkuan police presented the updated case diary to the court. The court allowed a three-day period for examination before proceeding to hear final arguments. Advocate Arvind Kumar Mauar, representing Khan Sir, objected to further delays, stating that the government counsel had already received the updated case diary.
However, the Public Prosecutor and counsel for Roshan Anand requested additional time to analyze the contents and legal aspects of the case diary. Consequently, the court adjourned the matter until June 30. The court is also set to consider the bail applications of Khan Sir’s two personal security guards on the same date.
According to the police case diary, investigators have reportedly determined that the firing incident on June 2 was not an act of self-defense. The police allege that the firing was intended to instigate panic. Faisal Khan’s name was added to the FIR during the investigation, following the violence outside his coaching institute.
Allegations had initially pointed towards outsiders for the firing incident, but subsequent CCTV footage allegedly showed Khan Sir’s security guards firing shots into the air. The defense maintains Khan Sir’s innocence, claiming he was falsely implicated and had no direct involvement in the firing. On the contrary, the police investigation raises doubts about the circumstances of the firing, relying on the findings in the case diary.
