In a significant operation against organized crime, Patna Police have apprehended eight individuals associated with the notorious Daya Dubey gang, including the alleged leader, Daya Dubey. The crackdown, prompted by a complaint filed on May 22 regarding an assault and firing incident, resulted in the seizure of weapons and mobile phones from the accused.
City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh revealed that the police action was initiated following a complaint implicating Daya Dubey and his accomplices in a life-threatening attack. Subsequently, a special team was formed to locate and arrest the suspects, utilizing a mix of technical surveillance and human intelligence.
The initial phase of the operation led to the arrest of four active gang members and the recovery of weapons associated with the group. Following specific intelligence inputs, the alleged gang leader, Daya Dubey, along with another associate, Abhishek Kumar, was apprehended. Additional suspects, Om Singh and Shivam Kumar, were also taken into custody based on further interrogation.
The arrested individuals have a history of serious criminal activities, including murder, extortion, robbery, and Arms Act violations. Authorities are investigating their involvement in other cases and verifying their criminal records.
