Patna experienced a decrease in minimum temperature for the fifth consecutive day due to a lack of sunshine, intensifying cold conditions. The Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cold day warning for the city. Dense fog is expected during morning hours, gradually clearing as the day progresses, although cloudy conditions will persist. Moderate fog enveloped the city on Monday morning, with a slight rise in maximum temperature by 0.2 degrees Celsius and a decrease in minimum temperature by 0.3 degrees. The maximum temperature reached 19 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 8 degrees Celsius. Cold day conditions are anticipated in isolated areas of western and central Bihar, with light to moderate fog across most districts. Tuesday may see dense fog in some northern and southwestern districts, with light to moderate fog elsewhere. No significant temperature changes are expected in the next two days, with dry weather forecasted for the next six days across Bihar. The transport system has been significantly impacted by the cold and dense fog, leading to major delays in rail services and flight cancellations at Patna Airport. Passengers are advised to check schedules in advance. In Sheohar, where a cold wave persists, all schools have been closed until December 23 for Classes 1 to 8. Teachers are required to attend regularly. Schools in Araria, Siwan, Bhojpur, Gopalganj, and Sitamarhi have also been closed until December 24 due to the cold wave.
