The police in South 24 Parganas district’s Baruipur, West Bengal, have apprehended an individual for trying to sexually assault a minor girl at a rented house. The minor had fled her home in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas district, and was enticed by the accused at Sealdah station.
The accused was presented before the Baruipur court, where the police requested custody for further questioning. The minor was rescued and returned home to Barrackpore. Locals reported that a man named Samad Ali took the minor to a rented house in Baruipur, where he allegedly attempted to rape her, leading to his arrest.
A disturbance arose in the vicinity, prompting the intervention of Baruipur police. Following an inquiry, the accused was taken into custody. The minor, who hails from Barrackpore, had left her residence after a disagreement and encountered the accused at Sealdah station in Kolkata.
Samad, residing in Mathurapur, South 24 Parganas district, coaxed the girl to Baruipur, where he resides. Meanwhile, the girl has been reunited with her family, as confirmed by Baruipur police. The incident occurred against the backdrop of a recent case in Suryapur, Baruipur, involving the recovery of a minor’s body and subsequent arrests.
