A 37-year-old Paying Guest (PG) hostel owner in east Bengaluru passed away following an altercation with two youths who were allegedly drinking liquor in front of his establishment. The incident, which occurred in the OMBR Layout area near Lakshmi Narasimha PG on Kasturinagar Main Road, led to the owner being beaten with a cricket bat after he objected to the youths’ actions.
The deceased, identified as Madhav Matle, was the owner of the PG hostel. The two accused individuals, Rakesh (21) and Don Brite (20), both students, have been apprehended. Rakesh hails from Kammanahalli, while Don Brite is a resident of Jeevanahalli in Bengaluru.
According to the police, the confrontation arose when Madhav objected to the youths washing their feet with tap water inside the premises. This objection led to a verbal dispute, escalating to a physical altercation involving a cricket bat. Madhav attempted to strike the students with the bat, but they managed to seize it and assault him, resulting in severe injuries.
Despite being rushed for medical care, Madhav succumbed to his injuries. The police revealed that the assault was triggered by the victim’s disapproval of the accused individuals’ behavior near the hostel. Following the incident, both suspects were arrested, and a case was filed against them.
Senior police officials have launched an investigation into the matter, analyzing witness testimonies and evidence to determine the precise chain of events that led to the tragic outcome. Further inquiries are ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the case.
