He emphasized that these new facilities are not just buildings but a significant advancement in providing advanced, accessible, and affordable healthcare to millions in northern India. The Advanced Mother and Child Centre, costing Rs 505 crore, is equipped with modern technology to offer comprehensive maternal and neonatal services, including high-risk deliveries management.
Prof Lal acknowledged the Infosys Foundation’s contribution of Rs 147 crore towards advanced medical equipment for PGIMER. This collaboration has bolstered the institute’s ability to deliver cutting-edge healthcare services. The Advanced Neurosciences Centre, a 300-bed facility, will integrate various neurology services under one roof, enhancing the management of complex neurological disorders. Additionally, the upcoming 150-bed Critical Care Hospital Block aims to improve emergency preparedness and critical care services post the COVID-19 pandemic.
