Piyush Goyal Emphasizes AI and Digital Tech for Business Growth

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the significant role of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies in empowering MSMEs, startups, exporters, and local businesses. Goyal discussed collaboration with a Google delegation led by Vidhya Srinivasan and Preeti Lobana from Google India to explore opportunities for utilizing AI and digital solutions across various sectors.

The meeting primarily focused on utilizing AI-driven tools to support the growth of small businesses, startups, and exporters in the digital marketplace. Both sides deliberated on enhancing collaboration to accelerate AI adoption, promote digital skills, improve market access, and drive innovation-led growth through technology.

Goyal stressed the importance of government and tech companies working closely to strengthen the digital ecosystem for businesses. He highlighted the potential for enhancing competitiveness and unlocking growth opportunities through emerging technologies. The discussions also revolved around leveraging AI and digital technologies to empower MSMEs, startups, exporters, and local businesses for sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, Goyal mentioned that India’s new free trade agreements are creating avenues for manufacturing and innovation, enabling the youth to compete globally. He encouraged students to embrace practical skills and technology-driven learning to capitalize on the opportunities arising from these trade pacts.
