Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. They emphasized the significance of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, highlighting strong ties in political, cultural, commercial, energy, and people-to-people aspects. This marks the Crown Prince’s second official visit to India, following his earlier trip in September 2024.
PM Modi shared that he had a productive discussion with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on enhancing cooperation in futuristic sectors like AI, supercomputers, and investments in data centers in India. Both leaders acknowledged the recent successful visits to India by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other members of the Royal families of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The bilateral relations between India and the UAE have seen significant progress in various sectors such as defense, security, trade, investment, education, and cultural cooperation. Notably, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed four years ago has led to remarkable growth in bilateral trade and investment. Both leaders also praised the substantial two-way investment flows and encouraged UAE Sovereign Wealth Funds to continue investing in the Indian economy.
In addition, they discussed collaborative opportunities in strategic sectors like space, nuclear energy, technology, and innovation. Several initiatives were welcomed to enhance bilateral cooperation, including the finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the health ministries of both countries and the deployment of a supercomputer cluster in India in partnership with UAE entities. The leaders also appreciated the establishment of the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company office in Gujarat’s GIFT City.
The visit underscored the commitment to the India-UAE technology partnership, with a focus on advanced technologies like AI. It highlighted the importance of regular high-level engagement between the two nations and the elevation of AI and advanced technologies as core elements of their bilateral relationship.
