In his address, PM Modi underscored the significance of the Indian Ocean in connecting India and Seychelles, stating that the ocean symbolizes their enduring friendship. He expressed gratitude to Seychelles President Patrick Herminie for honoring him with the title ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ and conveyed warm regards from the Indian population. PM Modi also highlighted the longstanding defense cooperation between India and Seychelles, acknowledging the role of the Seychelles Defence Forces and Coast Guard in maintaining regional security.
Reflecting on the 50th anniversary of Seychelles’ independence, PM Modi recalled the historical presence of Indian naval ships during key national events. He commended the mutual support and collaboration between the two countries in safeguarding maritime security and promoting regional stability. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Seychelles and celebrating the shared values that underpin their strategic partnership.
