As West Bengal gears up for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in 14 programs across the state in the next month. These programs will include public meetings and roadshows, as confirmed by a state committee member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal.
Following Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to engage in a total of eight programs, comprising roadshows and public meetings. Additionally, the BJP’s current national president Nitin Nabin will address seven public meetings during the campaign, while his predecessor and Union Health Minister, J.P. Nadda, will speak at six public meetings, as confirmed by the party’s state committee member.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be actively involved in the campaign, participating in eight programs in West Bengal, which will include both roadshows and public meetings. Furthermore, actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty is expected to take part in 10 campaign programs in the state, involving roadshows and public meetings.
During his recent rally at Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata, Prime Minister Modi expressed that a change in government in West Bengal is inevitable, reflecting the public sentiment. He emphasized the desire for the BJP to come to power in the state and end the prevailing ‘jungle raj’ in Bengal.
The Assembly elections in West Bengal will be conducted in two phases, with the first phase covering 152 constituencies on April 23 and the second phase for the remaining 142 constituencies on April 29. The election results are scheduled to be announced on May 4.
