Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese participated in the India-Australia CEO Forum in Melbourne. Albanese welcomed PM Modi, and both leaders posed for a photograph. The CEO Forum, active since 2012, was relaunched in 2023 by PM Modi and Albanese to enhance economic ties and support collaboration in trade and investment between India and Australia.
The Forum, meeting annually, advises government heads on ways to boost economic prosperity for both nations. PM Modi will co-chair the 3rd Annual Summit with PM Albanese and engage with stakeholders to deepen the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Besides bilateral discussions, PM Modi will meet Australia’s Governor-General, Sam Mostyn, and address the Indian diaspora in Melbourne.
Earlier, PM Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian community in Melbourne, praising their affection and bond with India. He met with the diaspora amid chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi, Modi’, enjoying cultural performances. PM Modi expressed delight at the musical performances and dance displays, emphasizing the cultural connections between Australia and India.
PM Modi, on a three-nation visit, is in Australia to strengthen the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership before heading to New Zealand for further discussions with the country’s leadership.
