Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kazakhstan counterpart Olzhas Bektenov met to discuss bilateral cooperation in political, trade, defence, security, connectivity, energy, emerging technologies, and people-to-people ties. The meeting occurred during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. PM Modi appreciated Bektenov’s participation in the summit, highlighting the shared commitment to using technology for social good and economic growth.
During their discussions, PM Modi emphasized the potential for collaboration in trade, energy, critical minerals, rare earths, defence, connectivity, and space. Both leaders also reviewed cooperation in various areas such as political, trade, defence, security, connectivity, energy, emerging technologies, and people-to-people ties. Kazakhstan Ambassador Azamat Yeskarayev recently met with Indian officials to discuss bilateral cooperation and reforms in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh diplomat briefed Indian officials on political and institutional reforms in Kazakhstan, focusing on constitutional changes to enhance the balance of powers, limit presidential authority, and strengthen judicial independence. The reforms aim to improve transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and citizens’ wellbeing. Both sides also discussed consular matters, emphasizing the protection of citizens’ rights and interests.
