The West Bengal government, under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, will now actively participate in central water-related projects associated with the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. This decision follows a meeting between Adhikari and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil at the state secretariat, Nabanna.
Adhikari, in a social media post, expressed support for the Jal Jeevan Mission, a significant program initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The mission aims to provide safe tap water to every household in West Bengal, aligning with the PM’s vision.
Furthermore, the collaboration between the West Bengal government and the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti will extend to key initiatives like the Namami Gange Programme and the Jal Shakti Abhiyan. Adhikari emphasized the importance of timely completion of national projects for the state’s benefit.
In his social media post, Adhikari criticized the previous administration led by Mamata Banerjee for hindering the state’s involvement in central projects related to the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. He highlighted the BJP government’s commitment to ensuring smooth implementation of these projects.
