Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a rally in Siliguri, criticized the Trinamool Congress for prioritizing appeasement politics over the development of North Bengal. He highlighted the state government’s substantial allocation of Rs 6,000 crore for madrasa education while neglecting budgetary provisions for North Bengal, crucial for Northeast India’s connectivity.
Modi also pointed out the Trinamool government’s insensitivity during a Durga Puja event in Kolkata amid severe floods and landslides in North Bengal. He labeled the party as anti-North Bengal, anti-tribal, anti-tea garden, anti-women, and anti-youth, emphasizing the need for a change in West Bengal’s leadership.
Accusing Trinamool leaders of supporting divisive elements aiming to disrupt the Siliguri Corridor, Modi stressed the BJP’s role in safeguarding national security. He criticized the state government for impeding Central welfare projects due to its lenient stance on illegal infiltrators, impacting local employment opportunities.
Modi urged the people to choose BJP for governance, promising protection for women, job creation, law enforcement, healthcare access for the underprivileged, and preservation of Bengali culture from appeasement politics.
