In response to allegations of misleading the public for political gains, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary defended the government’s position. He highlighted that the Opposition’s assertions of an impending tax on foreign travel were baseless, citing PM Modi’s clarification on the matter. PM Modi directly addressed and debunked the media report proposing a tax on foreign travel, asserting the government’s commitment to enhancing ease of business and living standards for citizens.
Following the media report’s retraction and apology, PM Modi reiterated the government’s stance on foreign travel taxation. He emphasized the importance of conserving resources like petrol, diesel, and foreign exchange reserves by promoting public transport usage and discouraging unnecessary foreign trips and non-essential gold purchases.
