Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced a diplomatic visit to France and Slovakia, focusing on bilateral talks, multilateral engagements, and enhancing economic and cultural ties. PM Modi expressed his agenda to participate in various programs during his visit, emphasizing economic and cultural collaborations. The visit will kick off in Nice with the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, attended by President Macron, as part of the ‘India-France Year of Innovation’.
In Nice, PM Modi is scheduled to engage in discussions with President Emmanuel Macron to review the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership. The visit will also witness the joint inauguration of the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, aimed at fostering innovation partnerships between India, France, and other nations. This initiative aligns with the ongoing ‘India-France Year of Innovation’.
Following his engagements in France, PM Modi will proceed to Slovakia for a state visit from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. This visit marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993. During his time in Slovakia, PM Modi will hold talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini to explore collaboration opportunities in trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railway infrastructure.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that the visit aims to strengthen India’s bilateral relationship with Slovakia across various sectors. Subsequently, PM Modi will return to France to participate in the G7 Summit in Evian on June 16–17, engaging with leaders from G7 countries, invited partner nations, and international organizations. The Prime Minister will then travel to Paris for additional bilateral meetings and attend the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event, where he will also address the Indian community.
