PM Modi extends greetings on Telangana Statehood Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of Telangana on their Statehood Day, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting the state’s development towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Telangana Statehood Day, observed on June 2, commemorates the state’s formation in 2014 by bifurcating from Andhra Pradesh. The state’s establishment marked the culmination of a prolonged democratic movement aimed at preserving cultural heritage, promoting economic growth, and ensuring self-governance.

On this occasion, PM Modi praised Telangana’s people for their innovative spirit and enterprise, acknowledging the state’s rich cultural history defined by courage and determination. He reiterated the Central Government’s dedication to aiding Telangana’s progress towards realizing the vision of a developed India. Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his wishes, expressing hope for Telangana’s continued prosperity and progress, which contributes to the nation’s pride.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy joined in the celebrations, reflecting on the state’s journey with gratitude for past sacrifices and aspirations for a brighter future. Telangana Statehood Day is a significant public holiday observed across all 33 districts, typically featuring official ceremonies where the Chief Minister raises the national flag at the Secunderabad Parade Ground.
