Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his family at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg. Modi presented a royal carved wooden jhula, a symbol of togetherness in Gujarati culture, and a Pashmina shawl from Kashmir in a decorative silver box, showcasing India’s handloom tradition. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi also received a Pashmina shawl and Kashmiri Saffron as gifts.
In a special gesture, Modi personally greeted Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Delhi airport, highlighting their strong friendship. The leaders traveled together, emphasizing the enduring partnership between India and the UAE. This visit marks the UAE President’s fifth trip to India in the last decade.
The ongoing India-UAE relations are characterized by strong political, cultural, and economic ties, supported by agreements like the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Bilateral Investment Treaty. The visit aims to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries and facilitate discussions on mutual interests at regional and global levels.
