One notable success mentioned by the Prime Minister was the growth of the Bamboo sector in the Northeast. He noted that bamboo, once considered a burden, now drives employment, business, and innovation. By reclassifying bamboo in 2017 and easing regulations, the sector has flourished, benefiting many, especially women.
PM Modi shared success stories like Bijoy Sutradhar and Pradeep Chakraborty from Tripura, who seized the opportunity created by the new laws and incorporated technology into their bamboo businesses. He also highlighted Self-Help Groups in Nagaland and creative teams in Mizoram and Sikkim, showcasing the diverse applications of bamboo in various products.
Encouraging support for the bamboo sector, PM Modi urged people to purchase bamboo products from the Northeast, emphasizing the positive impact such actions can have on those working hard to create these goods.
