Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects totaling Rs 19,806.9 crore in Vav-Tharad, North Gujarat. The projects, a joint effort of central and state governments, cover energy, transport, railways, urban infrastructure, and housing, signaling a significant investment in the region’s socio-economic development. The ceremony was attended by key state leaders, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, along with officials from both levels of government.
Under this initiative, PM Modi oversaw the commencement of various projects, including investments in renewable energy related to the hybrid park in Khavda, highway expansions, railway connectivity enhancements, and a range of state-led works in urban development, water supply, health, and tribal welfare. Additionally, the Prime Minister virtually participated in house-warming ceremonies for 38,949 homes completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) for rural beneficiaries from 34 districts in Gujarat.
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi praised PM Modi’s past tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, highlighting the transformative impact of his initiatives in remote villages. He noted the positive changes in Banaskantha and Vav-Tharad, emphasizing increased farmer incomes and a reversal of rural-to-urban migration trends. Sanghavi also connected these projects to the aspirations of India’s freedom fighters, emphasizing the government’s efforts to provide pucca homes and improved infrastructure.
