Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex and laid the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project at Pachpadra in Balotra district, Rajasthan. The refinery, a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan, is set to meet energy needs at an investment of Rs 79,459 crore. It integrates refining and petrochemical production with a capacity of 2.4 MMTPA.
The refinery, designed with advanced technology, will process Rajasthan and imported crude, boasting high efficiency and sustainability standards. Expected to enhance energy security and industrial growth, the project will boost self-reliance in the petrochemical sector. The Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project, with a 41-km corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod, aims to connect major industrial and residential areas, becoming a vital transport link in Jaipur.
The metro project, involving an investment of over Rs 13,037 crore, will provide seamless connectivity across key locations in Jaipur, including industrial areas, the airport, hospitals, and residential areas. Additionally, the Churu-Sadulpur and Churu-Ratangarh rail doubling projects, costing Rs 892 crore, were dedicated to improving rail connectivity in north-west Rajasthan. Energy projects worth Rs 9,079 crore, including solar power plants, were also inaugurated during the event.
