India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the inauguration of the ‘India AI Impact Expo 2026’ in New Delhi, highlighted the significance of India’s advancements in AI, stating it will not only benefit the nation but also have a global impact. He expressed optimism about the potential of Indian talent and innovation in shaping solutions beyond borders. The Expo, co-hosted with the India AI Impact Summit, is witnessing substantial participation, with over 20 heads of state, 60 ministers, and 500 global AI leaders in attendance.
The Summit aims to translate global AI discussions into actionable outcomes under the IndiaAI Mission and Digital India initiative, bringing together various stakeholders such as policymakers, tech firms, academia, and industry leaders. Scheduled for February 19, the Summit will feature the Prime Minister’s inaugural address, focusing on fostering global collaboration and advancing India’s vision for inclusive and trustworthy artificial intelligence.
With a focus on a people-centric approach to AI, the ‘India–AI Impact Summit 2026’ is structured around three guiding principles called ‘Sutras,’ emphasizing the collective benefits of multilateral cooperation in harnessing AI for social and economic progress. Noteworthy at the summit are the three flagship Global Impact Challenges — AI for ALL, AI by HER, and YUVAi — aimed at identifying scalable AI solutions aligned with national priorities. These challenges have garnered significant interest, receiving over 4,650 applications from 60 countries, showcasing global enthusiasm and innovation.
