Both leaders have prioritized collaboration in defense industry and technology, aiming to expand joint production, technology transfer, and capacity building in defense equipment. They have also welcomed advancements in pharmaceutical collaboration between the Armed Forces Medical Establishments of India and Indonesia.
PM Modi and President Prabowo have agreed to strengthen cooperation in various aspects of defense, including regular dialogues, joint exercises, staff talks, and co-production of new defense technologies. They have emphasized the strategic importance of joint exercises and defense training programs, with a focus on naval cooperation. Additionally, both leaders have underscored the significance of maritime cooperation, including maritime domain awareness, coastal surveillance, and humanitarian assistance, to promote peace, security, and prosperity in the region.
The two leaders have also acknowledged the importance of continued maritime cooperation, such as in Maritime Safety and Security, and have welcomed the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Safety and Security Cooperation. They have highlighted the significance of adhering to national laws and international principles, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, in discussions on maritime issues of mutual interest.
