Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the youth of India for their active role in promoting cleanliness and environmental conservation. He expressed pride in the increasing awareness among the country’s youth and their proactive measures towards maintaining cleanliness. During his radio program Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi highlighted the significant impact of small yet consistent initiatives that are bringing about positive changes nationwide.
In a specific mention of a youth-led initiative in Arunachal Pradesh, PM Modi praised the young individuals who took it upon themselves to clean public spaces in various cities. This initiative, which started in Itanagar, has now expanded to other towns in the state, with over 11 lakh kilograms of garbage already cleared by these enthusiastic youngsters.
The Prime Minister also shared a success story from Assam, emphasizing how collective efforts can transform neighborhoods for the better. He mentioned a group of people in Nagaon district who came together to clean the streets, leading to a significant improvement in the area. PM Modi further highlighted similar innovative endeavors happening across the country, including efforts in Bengaluru to address concerns related to bulky waste and discarded items.
Addressing the importance of recycling and waste management, PM Modi acknowledged the dedicated teams in various cities working towards processing landfill waste. He stressed the need for individual and collective efforts towards cleanliness, citing examples of successful recycling initiatives in different parts of the country. The Prime Minister reiterated that even small, sustained actions at the grassroots level can bring about substantial changes in the environment and society.
