Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects in Telangana worth approximately Rs 9,400 crore to boost employment opportunities and enhance connectivity in the state. Speaking via video conference, PM Modi highlighted Hyderabad’s importance on a national and global scale and emphasized that these projects would position Telangana as a key manufacturing center. The Zaheerabad Industrial Area was singled out as pivotal in the country’s efforts to develop industrial corridors.
Thousands of crores from the Union Government will be invested in these projects, paving the way for job creation for the youth in Telangana and Hyderabad. PM Modi stressed the significance of manufacturing vehicles, machinery, and establishing food processing industries in the region to benefit the local workforce and farmers. The PM MITRA Park in Warangal was mentioned as a catalyst for a textile revolution, offering units access to various Union Government schemes, including the PLI scheme.
PM Modi highlighted the Government of India’s extensive investment in modern infrastructure development, particularly in roads, railways, and airports, with a substantial allocation of nearly Rs 1.75 lakh crore for National Highways alone. Telangana has significantly benefited from this focus, witnessing a doubling of its National Highway network over the past 12 years. The Prime Minister also noted the substantial increase in railway budget allocation for Telangana post-2014, with ongoing projects worth around Rs 50,000 crore.
In light of the importance of energy security, especially during global uncertainties like the Iran war, PM Modi emphasized the Government’s significant investments in strengthening national energy security. The inauguration of Indian Oil’s new terminal in Malkapur was highlighted as a strategic move to meet Telangana’s growing energy demands and enhance the state’s supply chain. The Prime Minister also commended India’s progress in solar power production and ethanol blending, outlining a diversified energy strategy focusing on LPG coverage, piped natural gas distribution, and CNG-based systems nationwide.
