Marjan Rintel, President and CEO of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, highlighted the airline’s longstanding presence in India and its expanding operations, emphasizing the significance of business and innovation in the country.
The maritime and shipping sector was a key focus of the discussions, with Derk Te Bokkel, CEO of Royal IHC B.V., acknowledging PM Modi’s extensive knowledge of the shipping industry. Keith Svendsen, CEO of APM Terminals, praised the Prime Minister’s understanding of the port and transport sectors, recognizing their role in driving economic growth. In the semiconductor industry, Maurice Geraets of NXP Semiconductors expressed optimism about growth opportunities in India and lauded PM Modi’s support for the sector.
Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of Prosus, highlighted plans for increased investments in India, particularly in artificial intelligence. Martin Eggink from Rijk Zwaan emphasized the importance of international cooperation for global food security, echoing PM Modi’s call for collaboration in this area. Hans Huistra, CEO of Royal HZPC, commended the government’s focus on agricultural development and noted the company’s contributions to India’s farming sector.
The meeting also emphasized the deepening cooperation between India and the Netherlands in maritime infrastructure and trade. Arnout Damen of Damen Shipyards expressed the company’s interest in aligning its shipbuilding expertise with India’s growth objectives. Boudewijn Siemons stressed the significance of enhanced ties between forward-looking economies like India and the Netherlands in today’s volatile global landscape.
