During his visit, PM Modi held discussions with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Seri Perdana, where they assessed progress in various sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and biotechnology. Both leaders agreed to enhance collaboration in security, defense technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and semiconductors. PM Modi highlighted the enduring people-to-people ties between India and Malaysia, emphasizing initiatives like the Social Security Agreement, e-visa facilitation for tourism, and the introduction of UPI in Malaysia to strengthen bilateral relations.
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, PM Modi acknowledged the sacrifices made by individuals of Indian descent during India’s struggle for independence. He praised their ancestors’ contributions to India’s freedom movement and recognized their early involvement with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army.
