Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed delight in meeting Israel President Isaac Herzog to discuss various aspects of their countries’ bilateral relations. During the meeting, they planted a tree in the Presidential Gardens as part of the ‘EK Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. PM Modi also invited President Herzog to visit India soon.
In response to a video by President Herzog emphasizing the unity between the people of Israel and India, PM Modi praised the strong friendship between the two nations. The leaders explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in education, start-ups, innovation, technology, and connectivity.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, highlighted the warm ties between the two countries and thanked President Herzog for his support in strengthening the India-Israel Partnership. Both leaders discussed ways to further collaborate in various sectors.
Before meeting with the Israeli President, PM Modi paid a visit to the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Centre in Jerusalem. Accompanied by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, he honored the Holocaust victims by laying a wreath at the memorial.
During his two-day State Visit to Israel, PM Modi was warmly welcomed by Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, in Tel Aviv. He also made history by delivering a special address at the Knesset, marking the first time an Indian Prime Minister spoke at the Israeli parliament.
