India commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas with a special ‘Saurya Vijay Yatra,’ a motorcycle expedition from the National War Memorial in Delhi to the Kargil War Memorial in Drass. PM Modi highlighted the expedition’s message of unity and respect for the sacrifices made for the nation. He also noted India’s continuous efforts to enhance its technical capabilities in tandem with the bravery of its armed forces.
PM Modi underscored India’s progress in defense technology, citing the induction of INS Mahendragiri into the Indian Navy as a significant milestone. He praised the ship’s high indigenous content, symbolizing India’s self-reliant defense manufacturing capabilities. Additionally, he commended the development of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket system by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), showcasing India’s advancements in precision-guided artillery technology.
