Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed admiration for India’s diverse cultural heritage on display during his visit to the Netherlands. He highlighted the vibrant traditions of Maharashtra and the cultural spirit of Assam showcased at community events in the Netherlands. Modi also commended the enthusiastic Indian diaspora members who participated in the programs, emphasizing their special connection with India.

During the visit, PM Modi acknowledged the significant contributions of the Indian diaspora to Dutch society, describing them as a vital link fostering friendship between India and the Netherlands. He recognized the historical bonds shared with the Surinami-Hindustani community and praised their efforts in preserving and promoting their rich cultural legacy across generations.

Arriving in the Netherlands as part of a diplomatic tour, Prime Minister Modi is set to engage in bilateral discussions with Dutch leaders in The Hague. The talks will focus on enhancing cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, clean energy, water management, defense, and emerging technologies. The visit aims to strengthen strategic and economic partnerships between India and Europe.

Officials highlighted the Netherlands as a key economic partner for India in Europe, with robust trade and investment relations. Rotterdam, a crucial Dutch port city, serves as a significant gateway for Indian exports to Europe, further solidifying the economic ties between the two nations.
