This prestigious award marks PM Modi as the first-ever recipient. The medal was presented by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana following PM Modi’s address to the lawmakers in Jerusalem.
PM Modi emphasized that the honor symbolizes the enduring friendship between India and Israel. The Knesset citation praised PM Modi’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations in defense, technology, agriculture, innovation, and economic cooperation. Acknowledging the award as the highest recognition from the Knesset, PM Modi humbly accepted it, recognizing the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries.
After his address at the Knesset, PM Modi, accompanied by Netanyahu, visited a technology exhibition. He highlighted that Israel’s highest award signifies the shared values that unite the two nations. This accolade adds to PM Modi’s global recognition, as he joins a select group of leaders honored at the highest levels by both Israel and Palestine.
