Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian community at his hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. The community members chanted “Modi Modi” enthusiastically as they greeted him. PM Modi enjoyed cultural performances and praised the artists, including a shadow puppetry performance based on the Ramayana.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto personally welcomed PM Modi at the Jakarta airport as he began his three-day State Visit. PM Modi expressed gratitude for the special gesture by the Indonesian President. This visit marks PM Modi’s first bilateral trip to Jakarta since the elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018, aiming to strengthen the close relationship between the two countries.

President Prabowo Subianto and four ministers greeted PM Modi at the airport, where he witnessed a cultural performance. Fighter jets from the Indonesian Air Force escorted PM Modi’s plane upon entering Indonesian airspace. PM Modi highlighted the significance of the visit, emphasizing the deep civilisational and people-to-people bonds between India and Indonesia, further enhancing their multifaceted partnership.
