Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung for his warm wishes for the progress and friendship of India and New Zealand. PM Modi, on the final leg of his three-nation tour, appreciated the thoughtful messages from President Lee Jae-Myung. The South Korean President had earlier conveyed his wishes for the friendship and progress of both India and New Zealand.
Lee Jae-Myung’s well wishes were shared alongside a video showing the warm reception of PM Modi by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Auckland. President Lee Jae-Myung had visited India from April 19-21 this year, marking the earliest State Visit by a Korean President to India after taking office. Luxon had personally welcomed PM Modi to India, a gesture that highlighted the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
PM Modi described his visit to Auckland as “historic” and expressed eagerness to engage in discussions with Luxon on strengthening bilateral relations. He appreciated the warm welcome extended by Luxon upon his arrival, emphasizing the significance of this visit as the first Prime Ministerial visit to New Zealand in four decades. PM Modi is scheduled to engage in talks with Luxon to review the progress in various sectors such as trade, commerce, and defense during his visit.
The visit will also include interactions with key figures from the business and sports sectors. PM Modi is set to address a large gathering of the Indian diaspora in New Zealand before concluding his visit and returning home.
