Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam on Saturday for a busy day packed with the inauguration and launch of various infrastructure, education, and mobility projects across the state. He will first land at the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh at 10.30 a.m., emphasizing its significance as the first such facility in the Northeast, crucial for emergency response during challenging situations.
Later in the day, PM Modi will inaugurate multiple development projects at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati. One of the main highlights will be the inauguration of the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over the Brahmaputra River, aiming to enhance connectivity for Guwahati residents and neighboring areas, thereby boosting economic growth.
Among the projects to be launched are a National Data Centre for the North Eastern Region to bolster digital infrastructure and the introduction of 225 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme. These electric buses are expected to modernize urban transport and promote sustainable mobility practices.
During his visit, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Guwahati, which is anticipated to strengthen the region’s educational framework and attract students nationwide, elevating Assam’s status as an educational hub. Towards the end of the day, the Prime Minister will address BJP karyakartas in Guwahati, expressing confidence in the BJP-NDA alliance’s work in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Assam and seeking their support in the upcoming elections.
